Using this site

The tools on useragent.in are provided free of charge for lawful use. You may use the detector, parser, database and API for personal, educational and commercial purposes.

The parser and the dataset

The JavaScript parser (/assets/js/ua-parser.js) and the user agent dataset (/assets/data/) may be downloaded, used, modified and redistributed, including in commercial products, at no cost. Attribution is appreciated but not required.

The API

The API is offered for reasonable use without a key or rate limit. Please cache results and keep sustained request rates modest — a user agent maps to the same parse permanently, so repeated calls for the same string serve no purpose. We may block traffic that degrades the service for others. For high volume, download the parser and run it yourself.

Accuracy

User agent strings are self-reported by the client and can be changed or forged freely. Detection results are best-effort inferences and must not be relied on as proof of what a client is, particularly for security, licensing or access-control decisions. Dataset entries are structurally accurate representations of what the named clients emit; they are not a sample of live traffic and do not all correspond to shipping configurations.

This site and everything on it is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for any loss or damage arising from its use.

Changes

These terms may be updated from time to time. The date above reflects the most recent change.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Kolkata, West Bengal, India. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your own country.
